Trading points for resources is almost unlimited, at least when you activated the merchants bonus. For example, I payed 20 points for 20k clay. Instead of using 20 merchants normally, or some 14/15 with the bonus (1500 instead of 1000 per merchant), it used just 1. So, with 10 merchants that I have, I can buy 10 times an unlimited amount of resources.
I know that with 10p I can make changes between the resources that I have, but there I'm limited by the resources amount. For example, can't change more then 100k clay for 100k wood, if I have only 100k clay...
I think the trade for points should be limited to the amount of resources a merchant can carry, if it is 1k/1.5k/2k a.s.o..
