I think it would be helpful to add a search feature for the tribe forums (kind of like the one we have in this forum). That way new members can find important posts as soon as they join.

I'm told that making this possible would kill the server - as it stands, the posts are all compressed into the database. Retrieving and uncompressing them one by one and uncompressing them all one by one to make them available for searching isn't very viable.

Yeah, it would be overkill for the server, its the way the game is designed really and would require a server twice the size of a normal one before even considering it.
