I thought of a premium feature. Why don't you add in an optional side bar located to the right of where it has production, units, loyalty,belief, etc. that has a list of your villages and some details about them i.e resources, troops, etc. Its a bit like a village overview page but in a sidebar.....
In my view this would make changing between villages much easier and much more preferable.
